Savage Hippie Podcast Episode 64 – You’re a Chick, So You Feel More Sentimental About These Things

Once again, Elya abandons us, leaving me and Rachel to perform our battle of the sexes shtick without him.

We kick off the dang thing by talking about the Horna show that I went to in Los Angeles. You see, the politically correct sissies at the Metal Sucks blog decided that they’re going to try to get the Horna tour shut down by putting out articles saying that Horna are Nazis. Now, they very well could be, they very well could have “nefarious” connections to some Nazi sympathizing Pagan black metal bands, but that should not matter. I wanna see a goddamn black metal show, and besides, you can’t even understand the lyrics, and the crowd at most underground metal shows in Los Angeles is going to be predominantly Mexican.

After we were done recording the episode, we learned that the show had to be moved from its original venue to Bricks bar and grill. A few ANTIFAs DID show up and made fools of themselves. One of them held up a sign that said something like, “Nazi metal makes Satan bored.” I ran up to him and put my arm around him, and my buddy snapped a photo and said, “Say soy boy!” Now, of course, they’re trying to ruin Bricks for putting on the gig by going to their Yelp page and giving them negative reviews. So, be a good mensch and give ’em some five star reviews.

After that, Rachel and I take an unexpected detour down memory lane, talking about the Grand Rapids and Muskegon punk scenes and all the people we know. Then I talk about the new Motley Crue biopic, The Dirt and the Deplorable Comedy tour. And in the second half of the show, we answer questions.

For Sounds of Marshabaloosh, I celebrate the Green New Deal by playing “Technophobia” by Carnivore, the awesome hardcore/metal/thrash band fronted by Peter Steele before he started Type O Negative.

Corey Wilson does the art, and the song at the end is “The Diet Has Failed” by the Yesticles.
